Child-Pro (Children Provision Charity) 2010 is an inaugural non-profit event organized by the Management and Humanities Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.
The main objective of Child-Pro 2010 is to spread the awareness among universities students and cultivate love among the future leaders. It is also aimed at giving assistance, aid and care to the children in terms of their basic daily needs. Child-Pro 2010 looks to create awareness among students from all region about the current scenario of inadequate care and attention to the younger generation. Two main events, namely “Charity Night” and “Charity Exhibition and Exposure Session with Youth”, will be held in Teknologi Petronas academic semester (January-April 2010).
With the theme “Let’s SMILE”, we hope to be able to carve a smile on the faces of those children in need, by sharing with them our compassion and love as well as providing them with the aid and support needed to give them a more fulfilling life. Tens of thousands of children living in urban slums and rural, remote communities endure troubled and painful childhoods due to economic, social and rural-urban disparities. Many of these children live in the margins of society due to poverty and abandonment, and lack proper access to basic needs such as healthcare and education. Child-Pro 2010 is a program that has been conceptualized to meet the needs of such children who are often overlooked by the society in general.
Objectives:
To cultivate and foster love, care, attention and awareness towards the plight of unfortunate children such as
orphans.
To provide assistance such as educational support, exposure and guidance to the orphans in terms of knowledge, wisdom and soft skills.
To act as a non-profit organization which provides a platform for monetary aid and support to be channelled to
children in need through donation drive.
